Metal tubes are processed by three different tooling machines, where the handling of the parts from one machine to the other is executed by a TendMATE:L® system. Equipped with a solid double gripper, the part exchange is stable and precise.

Optimized path selection and acceleration timing of the robot minimize the part-exchange time to a minimum and assure a maximum uptime of the machines. To process one part with three machining steps, less than 19 seconds are needed.

Besides the main workflow of the robot, also every possible error scenario is handled through clever software design. In case of a malfunction of a sensor or a unpropper working clamping device, the robot automatically tries to solve the problem. Only in irresolvable situations the robot moves automatically in its secure position and report the error to the operator. In that way a very high level of reliability and availability is guaranteed.
