Micro Insert Molding
Time:2017-03-01 Count: 2402
The production of tiny watch components is automated by a TendMATE:S® system. Small metal shafts are inserted precisely into the mold of an injection molding machine. Previously the same operation was done manually by hand which cost much more time and also led to frequent mold damages due to improper insertion. As the TendMATE:S® came in operation, these problems were solved. |

This system has a minimal footprint of 1m x 1m and therfore saves valuable workspace in the production area. Inside the cell is a small bowlfeeder, a vision station and slots for the finished part boxes. |
|
To guarantee that the tiny parts are properly gripped, the robot moves in front of a cognex camera to inspect the location, angle and quality of the part before inserting it into the mold. |
